The holidays in 2020 might look a bit different than normal for us all, but there are still so many ways to celebrate with the ones you love most. The 2020 New Orleans holiday season brings magnificent lights displays, holiday events for all ages, and festive experiences that are truly unique to Louisiana. This time of the year you'll find the iron-laced balconies of the French Quarter decorated for the season and twinkling lights strewn from ancient oak trees in City Park.


2020 New Orleans Holiday Events



SUPERNOVA on the Lafitte Greenway

Lafitte Greenway is a 2.6-mile foot trail and parkway in the heart of New Orleans connecting the French Quarter to Bayou St. John and Mid-City. This holiday season, the trail will turn into a light-based art exhibit on Wednesdays through Sundays December 9 through 20. This event is free for anyone to attend.



Celebration in the Oaks

Each year during the holiday season the famous Oak trees in City Park are lit in a magical display of holiday lights. In 2020, Celebration in the Oaks is holding driving tours for guests to safely view all the decorations. Purchase a vehicle pass online for a scheduled day and time to experience the holiday magic at City Park. Celebration in the Oaks will take place November 26 through January 3, and it will be closed December 24 & 31).

Driving tours are taking place Sunday through Thursdays 6 pm - 10 pm; and Friday and Saturday 5 pm - 11 pm.



Holiday Tea at the Windsor

Experience the holiday season in high class with this event. Holiday Tea at Le Salon at the Windsor is a traditional English tea service with a festive twist. You'll choose from a selection of loose leaf teas and snack on gourmet tea sandwiches, house-made scones, and desserts. Seatings for Holiday Tea at the Windsor are available on select days November 27 through December 30 from 10 am - 3 pm.



Reveillon Dinners

Reveillon Dinners are inspired by the big family meals eaten at the start of Christmas by some of the city's earliest inhabitants during the 1800s. These days, restaurants in New Orleans offer special holiday set-course menus with lavish meals and cocktails for a truly unique dining experience. Restaurants throughout the city participate in the event from December 1 through 24. Many restaurants are also offering takeout Reveillon options but contact individual restaurants directly for special menus, offers, and more.



New Year's Eve at The Cannery

Located in Mid City, The Cannery is hosting a dinner event on New Year's Eve to ring in 2021. Tickets are for a seated dinner and drinks with fireworks at midnight on the roof. Tickets will be sold for tables of 8 and they will be spaced appropriately throughout the venue.
