Miami is an endless tropical paradise all year round and summer is no exception. And with summer coming up, no doubt you’re looking to escape to the sunshine state to enjoy its beautiful beach and laze under the sun.
We’ve put together a list of other activities you might want to add to your to-do on your visit this summer.
Take a hike
Beyond the beaches and vibrant nightlife, Florida is home to diverse species of plants and animals, so going on a hike is a great way to learn more about the state’s unique flora and fauna. Only 30 minutes away from downtown Miami is Florida’s largest urban park, Oleta River State Park. Here you can also do some birding, mountain biking and paddling.
Rent a boat
Miami might as well be the Mecca of boaters from all over the world, so make the most of your summer trip by renting a boat to explore islands, go fishing, or just to cruise around. Miami offers all types of boats you might need from kayaks to speed boats and yachts. It’s not every day you can rent a yacht in Miami for a party.
Attend summer festivals and events
What is summer without festivities and events lined up? If you happen to be in Miami on July 8th-9th, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is hosting its Mango Festival! Bring the whole family for a weekend of mango smoothies and even mango-inspired cocktails.
